The Team

Robert is our founder, CEO & the director. He launched Additive Manufacturing Solutions Ltd. (AMS) in 2017. Robert is a Chartered Engineer and has experience across academia, motorsport, space and aerospace. Robert was responsible for qualification of materials, processes and parts produced by additive manufacturing most recently for Airbus before creating AMS. Robert is also a PhD candidate where he is investigating multi laser effects on the metallurgy of AM products.

Katie is our Chief Human Resource Officer. Well-being, employee satisfaction and ensuring all the team are enabled is a critical role for the AMS team and Katie's experience and empathetic nature are perfect mixes to create a grounding for AMS current and future staff.

Lauren is our test engineer with a passion for understanding the behaviour of materials. Excelling in both her undergraduate and master's degrees, she found her favourite modules in materials and material science. With a natural curiosity about how things work and why they behave differently, Lauren's decision to pursue engineering was driven by her desire to explore these questions.

Joe is our Systems Engineer. A versatile tech enthusiast with a passion for programming and problem-solving. Proficient in Python, .NET (C#), and C, Joe excels in software development, data logging, and automation. With a knack for tackling complex challenges, they are a valuable asset in problem-solving endeavors. Equipped with excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit, Joe thrives in team settings, fostering innovation and efficiency. Beyond their professional endeavors, Joe is also a hobbyist 3D printing enthusiast, showcasing their creativity and dedication to turning ideas into tangible realities.

Davey is our Data and Systems lead with a passion for problem solving. He has a proven track record of success in extracting insights from data and presenting them in a clear and concise way. He is also an experienced manager, with a knack for motivating and inspiring his team. In addition to his data skills, Davey also has an understanding of web development and coding. He is a highly motivated and results-oriented individual who is always looking for new challenges to overcome.

Julie has a diverse skill set acquired over her career, starting as a CAD draughtsperson and progressing to various roles including Admin Supervisor, Warehouse Supervisor, and ultimately Warehouse Manager at a popular retail chain. Julie has extensive experience in HR management, including handling personnel issues, recruitment, and disciplinary actions following ACAS guidelines. Julie is proficient in using software packages and has developed templates for various HR situations. Additionally, she can demonstrate effective communication skills, discretion, and a strong commitment to health and safety, holding IOSH certification. Outside of her main career, Julie has ventured into antiques and collectibles trading, finding it a rewarding learning experience.
